NEWS NOTES OF NEW CASTLE Special to THE EVENING JOURNAL NEW CASTLEy Feb. 20-In the Meth odist Church last evening Rev. Dr. Paul son lectured before a large audience. The proceeds were for the benefit ot Rev. F. X. Moore's Sunday School class. City Treasurer Manlove and Tax Col lector Shearer were served yesterday with the notices that taxes for 1903 and 1906 must be turned In after two weeks. City Treasurer Manlove to-day will notify Shearer's bondsmen that unless settle ment is made ha will proceed against them. , Tho bonds for the two years are for *52,000. Three of the bondsmen are on both years' bonds. William Fowler will break ground next week for a store and dwelling at Sixth and Cherry streets. He will open on ice cream and oyster sajfon. This is the first building to go up this year and will be followed by a regular boom. A number ot men who contemplate fish. Ing for shad were laid oft yesterday at the Baldt Steel Works.
