TELLS Of PEARV'S TRIP TO NORTH Whitney Describes Struggle With Ice Barriers in Arctic SHOW'S PICTURES OF COLD REGION Harry Whitney, a member of Peary's party when he discovered the North Pole, In an illustrated lecture before the Society of Na tural History of Delaware! In Trin ity parish house lost night portrayed in an interesting manner their strug gles with ice barriers, exciting chases to capture specimens of the various species of animal life which Inhabit the land of the midnight sun, show ing pictures of the life and customs of the Eskimos and the flora of the Ice bound north. Mr. Whitney was also a member of four other Polar expeditions with Peary and other explorers. His lec >tire was Illustrated by about. 150 lantern slides made from photo graphs taken by him on these vari ous expeditions. Much of his lecture was devoted to Interesting accounts and pictures of the methods used in the pursuit of the walrus, musk-ox, polar bear, auk, eider duck and other animals and birds which live where the tem perature is about 00 degrees below zero.
