McLaughlin for 1st quarter ending March 81st, 1907, received, showing all fines and costs paid and balance due the county ot 81.26, paid in the county treasury, was upon the approval of states at torney and on motion ordered filed. The report of Justice Martin Lar son for 1st quarter ending March 81st, 1907, received, showing all fines and costs paid and balance of $6.00 due the county, turned into county treas ury, was upon the approval of states attorney and on motion ordered filed. On motion the contract of A. F. Turner to build county bridges dur ing the year 1907, in Grand Forks county, N. D., was approved by the board in accordance with his bid, submitted March 12th, 1907, and con tract awarded March 13th, 1907. Mr. Murphy introduced the, follow ing resolution, seconded by Mr. Pou pore and moved its adoption. Wlhereas, the county of Grand Forks, N. D.. has expended many thou sands of dollars in the construction and erection of suitable buildings for Its poor farm and hospital at Arvllla, and Whereas, the county of Grand Forks, N.D., expends many thousands of dol lars in the malntainance of said poor farm and hospital annually, and Whereas, the county expends a great many thousands of dollars an nually for the care, malntainance and support of the poor at various places in said county of Grand Forks, and Whereas in accordance with the spirit of the law it is expected that the county will keep its poor at the poor farm, Now, therefore be it resolved by the board of County commissioners of the county of Grand Forks, N. D., that hereafter all paupers receiving support and being supported by the county must reside at the poor farm at Arvilla. JAS. MURPHY. The vote on the foregoing resolu tion was as follows: Murphy and Poupore voting yes, Thompson, KOrs mo and Haddow voting, no. Motion to pass resolution not carried. Mr. Thompson introduced the fol lowing resolution, seconded by Mr. Poupore and moved its adoption. Resolution. Resolution of board ot county com missioners of Grand Forks county, N. D., dated April 1907. Whereas, section 1683 of the revised Codes of 1899 makes it the duty of the board of county commissioners to prescribe 'the time and manner of •destroying noxious weeds, therefore Be it fBsoIved, by the board of county commissioners, that the weed, known as French weed, shall be de stroyed on or before the first day .of _June .1907^. and .all other ^weeds, known as Canada thistle. Cocklebur mustard, wild oats and Russian Cactus shall be destroyed on or before the fifteenth day of June 1907. Resolved, that the county auditor shall publish at least two weeks In some newspaper in the county before the time as prescribed notice of this resolution Resolved, whenever any individual, firm or corporation, owing or oc cupying any lands within this county, shall neglect or refuse to destroy French weed on or before the first day of June 1907, or Canada thistle, Cocklebur, mustard, wlild oats, and Russian cactus, on or before the fif teenth day of June 1907, or for more than ten days after the time so speci fied, then it shall be the duty of the overseer or rdad supervisor to pro ceed forthwith to destroy the same Resolved, that such destruction of said weeds shall be accomplished by pulling them when practicable. If pulling be not practicable and efficient means of destruction, then the same •shall be mowed or plowed down as such board of township supervisors may determine. All members voting, yes, the motion carried. On motion of Mr. Haddow seconded by Mr. Thompson the'following nam ed public places are designated as the only market places for the sale of chattels upon chattel mortgages in the county of Grand Forks, state of North- Dakota, viz: In Grand Forks city, N. D., in or in front of the warehouse of the Houghton Implement company on Ninth street, between University and International avenues Larimore city, Northwood city, Rey nolds city, Inkster, villages of Arvilla, Emerado, Gilby, McCanna. Mekincock, Manvel, Niagara, Thompson and Johnstown in front of postoffices in the several places mentioned. On motion of Mr. Poupore seconded by Mr. Murphy the county auditor was instructed to draw warrant for $30.66 in favor of the treasurer of Grand Forks county for special taxes against s%, of lot 6, all of lots 8, 10. 12, 14 and 16, block 30. Original townsite of Grand Forks city N. D., the same be ing county property. A good and sufficient bond having been filed by E. J. Lander & Co. to Grand Forks county, N. D. The county auditor was instructed to cancel tax certificate No. 8092, sale of 1897, for the tax of 1896, covering lots 1 and 2, block 6, Lindsay's addition to Grand Forks city, N. D. On motion the county auditor was authorized to assign tax judgment certificate No. 216 of the tax judg ment sale of October 23d, 1906, to E. Drake, executor, setting forth the amount of personal estate that has come to his hands, and the disposition thereof, and a description of all the real estate of which said deceased died seized, and the condition and value of the respective portions thereof and praying that license be to him granted to sell lota three (3) and four (4), of 'block sixteen -(16), of Holes' Central addition to Grand Forks, N.
