PULLS GUN ON CONSTABLE
Fred Chapman, who resides on J.
H. Rutter's ranch east of Hinsdale,
was arrested on a burglary charge
Sunday evening by Sheriff Powell and
Under-Sheriff Landre after a short
chase. Chapman is alleged to have
entered the shack of S. Simon located
about fifteen miles northeast of town
and stolen some of his belongings.
When Constable Chas. Farmer went
out to his place armed with a search
warrant on Sunday morning, Chap
man covered him with two puns and
demanded Farmer to be on his way,
the request being promptly complied
with. It was then that the authorities
at Glasgow were notified. They over
took him about fifteen miles north
east of here and arrested their man
without difficulty.
He was arraigned before Justice
Blankenship here on Monday after
noon and plead not guilty. The case
has been set for tomorrow morning
at 10 o'clock.—Tribune.
