The contents, in cluding wardrobes, theatre properties and scenery, were also butned. Noth ing was saved. A 4*oad Man* Record Nkw York, April 4. —Peter Cooper celebrated his ninety-second birthday on February 12. He has been ailing some time with a alight cold and Suuday was compelled to remain in bod. The family physician was summoned and at once discovered tbe patient suffering from a severe attack uf pneumonia. Cooper's advanced year* were a great drawback to hia recovery. About 2 o'clock tiiis morning he called his son, ex-Mayor Cooper, and Mrs. Abraham Hewitt, bis daughter, and her family to hia bedside, saying- to them he knew he bad not long to live and tbey must become reconciled to tbe fact. Death occurred exactly at 3a. h. lie remained conscious up to the time of bis demise and made several remark* on family affairs. Jealousy and Marder. Washington, April 3.—Frederick de 1 Fronville, formerly a member of the sig- ' nal service, to-night shot and killed his wife and then kilted himself at bis wife's 1 home in Washington. The count ia unfinished at midnight, but it is believed Champion S.
