FINANCE AND TRADE. Financial. EXCHANGE REVIEW. New York. January 18—The stock market showed a still further falling off ln the amount of business done to-day. The interest of the day centered ln Southwestern stocks, bnt the selling movement extended to San Francisco, which was sold down Irom MM to6l. The first figures were generally slightly better than last evening's prices, but a weakness in Atchi son and other Southwesterns soon changed the temper of the trading and the early Improve ment was quickly wiped out. The market finally closed dull and heavy at or near the lowest prices of the day. Pullman stands alone this evening in showing an advance, which was 1% per cent, while Ban Francisco preferred Is oil 2%, Atchison 2V», Missouri Pacific 1%, Delaware and Hudson 1&, Rock Island 1% Government bonds were dull but strong. Petroleum opened steady at but after the first sales the market became heavy and declined to 83?4«. and cloted Bteady at 83/ a c. Sales, 2,112,000 barrels.
