This sensational case occupied the attention of the public and superior court for a long time last spring, and from tbe standing ol the defendant's parents caused considerable excitement. The suit was brought to break the will of Mrs, A. C. Calkins, who bad devised and bequeathed her property to her husband, "Bert" Calkins, a young man ol this city known for his sportive ten dencies. The plaintiffs alleged undue influence and great crueltr to hia wife, and the testimony brought out estab lished tbe fact beyond the shadow of a doubt In the minda of the jury, ol bia neslect, and the jury in consequence brought in a verdict for the plaintiffs.
