J. George Leads In the Enterprise Rumors of the early erection of a new hotel at Hollywood and the build ing of another electric railway line to connect Hollywood with Los Angeles and the coast have been In circulation for several weeks. Diligent Inquiry has failed to confirm the railroad story, but It appears that the hotel rumor is well founded, and that steps have already been taken to clear the ground for the Improvement. The chief promoter of the hotel propo sition is C. J. George of the mining firm of C. J. George & Co., room 700 Fay building. Mr. George is the owner of considerable valuable property at Hollywood. Part of his holdings In clude about ten acres between Ivia and Vine streets, about a block north of Prospect avenue. This ground is now being leveled for the erection of the hotel, which, It Is said, will be one of the finest structures in any of thfi suburban cities' of Los Angeles. Plans have not been completed for the hotel, but it is stated that about $100,000 will be expended in the improvement. The hotel will face the mountains, and from all sides will be afforded a fine view of the mountains and sur rounding country. Mr. George, who has been in Arizona for several days, will return next week to give further advancement of the notable enterprise his personal attention. The population of Hollywood and the business interests generally are growing rapidly, and the beautiful city that is recognized as the rival of Pasadena in beauty and progress, is deservedly popular with Los Angeles business men and the traveling public. The . present magnificent Hollywood hotel has become too small to properly accommodate the public, and to meet the growing demand plans have been drawn for the enlargment of the es tablishment. FIGUEROA STREET IN LINE Improvement Association Formed to Clean Up and Put Street in Fine Condition The owners of Flgueroa street prop erty situated between.
