Berendo street, from Pico street to a point
1095.86 feet southerly therefrom.
The Mayor and Council of the City of
Los Angeles do ordain as follows:
Section 1. That it Is the intention of the
Council of the City of Los Angelea to
establish the grndo of
BERENDO STREET
from Pico street to a point 1095.86 feet
southerly therefrom. In accordance with
the following elevations:
At the Intersection with Pico street
the grade shall be 21!>.58 at the southeast
corner and 215.66 at the southwest corner,
aB now established on Pico street.
At a point on the east side 400 feet south
of the south lino of Pico street and at
a point on the west side opposite thereto
the grade shall be 21«.90.
At the Intersection with Sepulveda
street the grade shall be 218.50 at tho
northwest corner and 218.90 at the south-
west corner, as now established on Sepul-
veda street.

as amended by an Act of the Legislature
amending said last named Act, which
Rmendlng Act became a law March -2d,
1899, that bonds shall be issued to repre-
sent the cost of said improvement. Said
bonds shall lie serial, extending over a
period of ten years, an even proportion ot
the principal sum of which Bhnli he pay-
able annually on tho second day of Janu-
ary ot each year by coupon, after their
date until the whole are paid, nnd to. bear
interest at the rato of seven (7) per cent,
per annum, payable seml-annually
on tne second days of January and July
of each and every year.
Sec. 8, The City Clerk is hereby di-
rected to publish a notice of said work
inviting sealed proposals or bids for
doing snid work, and referring to the
specifications posted or on file, for two
days in the Los Angeles Herald, a daily
newspaper published, and circulated in
said city, hereby designated for that
purpose. Said notice shall requlro a
certified check or a bond, either, ns
prescribed by law, and for an amount
not less than 10 per cent of the aggre-
gate of the proposal. Ho is also direct-
ed to post said notice with specifi-
cations conspicuously for five days on
or near the Council Chamber door.
See. 4. The City Clerk shrill certify
to the passage, of this Ordinance, nnd
shall cause the snme to be published
for two days In thn Los Angeles Her-
ald, and thereupon and thereafter it
shall take effect nnd be in force.

to establish the grade of

from Hoover street to Orchard avenue,
In nccordance with the following eleva-
tions:
At the Intersection with Hoover streot
the grade shnll be 187.70 at the northwest
corner and 187.10 at tho southwest corner,
as now established on Hoover street.
At a point on the north side 100 feet
west of the west line of Hoover street
the grnde shall he 188.00 and 188.20 at a
point on tho south side opposite thereto.
At a point on tho north side 620 feet
west of the west line of Hoover street
