WILL BUY LAND FOR HIGH SCHOOL Board of Education Favors Purchase for Extension of Grounds for Botanical Gardens and Athletic Field By the expenditure of almost $22,000 the board of education will proviclo athletic and botanical ground for tho Los Angeles high school. The "grave yard" property behind the high school, now in the possession of C. F. Sktlling, was recently condemned by the courts and a valuation of $21,500 sot upon It; and last night the question of buying it came up before the board of educa tion. Principal Housh of the high school pointed out strongly the needs of aho additional grounds both for botannfcal gardens and for the athletic activities.
