Probation Requirements

Valentine was found guilty of bur

officer.
He complied with nil requirements,
and for two years has not missed a
day's work. He has saved $280 In that

He was allowed to change his plea
of guilty to not guilty, and was dis
chargoil as lnnocnt of any misconduct
and eligible to lights under the law

GLOBE SEEKS HONOR OF
BEING ARIZONA CAPITAL
Chamber of Commerce Secretary
Here to Secure Attractions

Arizona when that territory Is ad
mitted to the Union, according to the

few day« looking up attractions for a
fair which will he held there July *.
"If the statehood bill admitting Ari-
Bona is passed in time, we Will mike
Fourth of July celebration a cele
bration of statehood," said Mr. Rohr
abacher yesterday.
"We believe in Globe that we are the
most favorably situated to be the state
capital, and will make a hard light to
;i that honor as booh as the terri
tory is admitted. When railroad proj
ects now in course of construction are
finished Globe will be easier of access
from all portions of Arizona than any
other city. There is the Durango road,
from Denver and Durango, Col., to
Globe, which when completed "ill be.
the principal north and south line In
the territory. Then there is a trans
continental road already constructing
a line into Globe, which will put us
into direct touch with the east and
west traffic."
Mr. Bohrabacher is trying to get at
least oni! aviator for the celebration at
Globe, and la also going to book sev
eral automobile racers and as many
other high-class attractions as he can
find.
GUN PLAY COSTS $20
P, H. Fredericks, who WM arrested
by Patrolman Me Vullfte on South Main
street Sunday night and who is alleged
to have attempted to shoot th<' officer,
pleaded guilty in Police Judge Fn-d
--erickson's court yesterday to a charge of
carrying concealed weapons and was
sentenced to pay a fine of $20 or serve
twenty days in the city Jail. Fredericks
gtated that he came to this city from
Arizona and said he was in the habit
of carrying a revolver in the territory
and foißot all about the matter whin
he was averoached by the» Dollceman.

Thieves Visit Livery Stables and
Secure Novel Plunder
The police records show thefts of
many different articles and varieties
of merchandise, hut the most extraor
dinary case was reported to the detec
tive bureau yesterday when Patrolman
Qreely turned in a report to the effect
11 i;it hair from the tails and manes <>f
eighteen horses was stolen from
stables on Lyons street early yesterday
morning.
According to tho report the men, who
evidently were experts at tho business
Of freeing a hor.se from Its hair. I n
torod the Los Angeles Sales stables
at 781 Lyons street and clipped six
horses. The men then went to the sta
bi i of Max Maxman at 746 Lyons street
and took off the hair of a half a dozen
animals They thru entered the barns
of the .Hanna Horse market at 747
Lyons street and deprived six horses
of their tails.
The detectives who were detailed on
the. case are ;it a loss whether to search
for the offenders In hair dressing estab
lishments, where rats for women are
made, or to look for tho thieves in the
alleyways of Chinatown, where false
<iv met are greatly in demand by high
binders', who pass an Americanised
Chinese In the daytime and do deeds
of vlolenoe at night in the attire of
Chinese merchants.
The officers have decided to search
harness stores and other such places
in hopes of finding a place where the
men likely would sell the hair for use
In making belts, hat bands and watch
fobs.
JAPANESE LABORER KILLED
"While attempting to ride his bicycle
across the tracks In front of an out
bound Santa Monica car, O. Kikuchl,
28 years Old, B gardener employed by
the Japanese-Tokio Nursery Day Work
company of 1105 South Vermont avenue,
was struck at Sixteenth and Pimar
ron streets yesterday afternoon and
Incurred injuries that resulted in his
death several hours later. Both legs
were severed below the knees and
he was cut and bruised on the lace
and body.

having gone and flowers in bloom.

at their best, and may be seen with ease and comfort.
Southern Pacific train from Los Angeles daily at 9:30
p. m. connects next day at Merced with the Yosemite Valley
R. R. for El Portal, on the park boundary, from which a stage
ride of only 12 miles over an excellent road is necessary to
reach the valley.
