6 BANKERS COMING HERE IN THRONGS White, Blue, Green and Other Specials Due to Arrive Here Today BECEPTION PLEASES VISITORS rifornia Hospitality Makes Fine Impression en Delegates Already Here Although no more bankers' specials arrived In Los Anpeles yesterday, quite a number of eastern delegates, as T/ell as many from up and down the Pacific coast, cmc in on the reg- , ular trains yesterday for the opening j of the American Bankers' association convention Monday morning. Registration began, yesterday after noon, local bankers only being regis- j tored, however. The registration of; the visitors will begin this afternoon | aa soon as they arrive, and will con tinue on Into the night as lons as they continue to arrive. Each delegate ia I given a little gold . in of neat design, | ■which Is pood for, admittance to the sessions of the convention, and the guests who are riot delegates are also given a distinguishing insignia which i entitles them to the social courtesies wheh will be extended the financiers while here. The registration room Is located on the second floor of the Alexandria hotel, in the private banquet room, and every arrangement has been made for rapidly registering the delegates. A corps of twelve stenographers, ranged along behind a high desk, write out the registrations for the different delegates and gueits as the latter dic tate, and this registration is taken to another counter, where badges are distributed. There are also sections arranged for the separate registration of members belonging to the savings bank and clearing house sections of the A. B. A. BEADY TOR NEWCOMERS Late last evening everything was reported in readiness for the reception ! of a great number of delegates who will arrive today. Hotel accommoda tions have been arranged to accom modate 3000 people, and Fred E. Farnsworth, general secretary of the organization, stated last night that. provided the present rate of arivals keeps up, there will undoubtedly be as great a number as that in attend ance. The White, Blue and Green specials, i bearing the remainder of the New j York and New England delegates, will arrive in Los Angeles at 6:30 this even ing over the Santa Fe. The Pennsyl vania special will also arrive about that time over the same road. Two carloads of delegates from Indiana are j due at 2:35 over the Southern Pacific | and the Chicago specials over the Salt j Lake route an' scheduled to arrive at 4:30. The Missouri and Kansas spe cials are due about 8:30 Monday morn ing over the Salt Lake, but their ex net time of arrival cannot be stated positively, owing to the railroad rule of all trains running ten minutes apart. Registration will be commenced at 2 o'clock, with the arrival of the first I train, and continue until all who ar rive tomorrow are accounted for. A committee from the Los Angeles Clearing House association will take stations at each of the three depots tomorrow afternoon to receive and take care of the delegates as they ar rive. VISITORS ARE PLEASED In regard to this, Secretary Fanis worth paid a high compliment to the local bankers last evening. He said: "Never In the history of the organ ization have local committees provided for the comfort and convenience of the members as they have here. They meet us In automobiles, whisk us to our hotels and see to It that every wish and desire of ours are granted Never before have we had a women's committee to look after the comforts of the ladies of the party as in Los Angeles. I knew such would be the case before I came—l have been known IX)s Angeles' hospitality before—DUt to the newcomers here the.se attentions come as a most enjoyable surprise." The women's committee has its headquarters locnted in the private dining room on the mezzanine floor of the Alexandria, from where the wants of the visiting women nre attended. Testerday the visitors were honored with a basket of California fruit and a vase of red carnations being sent to each of their room" in the big ho tel, with the compliments of the women's committee. It Is these atten tions which STh filling the hearts of the visitors with an everlasting re gard for Los Angeles and its people, according to Secretary Farnsworth.
