C. Wil fti, ni'inber of the Chicago board of tra'le, NVw York stock exchange and San Francisco bond and stock exchange, 212 West Fifth ti ot, L» Angeles. CHICAGO, Dec. 21.—Wheat hai been aa steadily weak today as it was strong yester day, There has bi-'-n unloading today on rain forecast df wheat boug yesterday on drought. Rain or mow as far east as central Kansas Is reported by private wires today, while thl? official forecast Is for rain or snow generally tho winter wheat, country east f'L' the Rockies. There .■.l no demand today herel tor cash wheat. Other points also re ported dullness. European markets mostly lower. Duluth reported the shutting down to day of, another flour mill, leaving only one small concern running there. Considerabla July wheat bought yesterday by tho southwest was sold uut today on the belief in a breaking of the drought. Tra/ie was of a holiday char ttcter and mainly an evening up of operations made yesterday. The corn market wns strong early, the fore cast of unsettled tvrather and predictions of lessened wiles by the country helping values. Xfce cash demnnd was practically nil and the premium that yellow has held over oth^r sorts disappeared with tha eastern demand, strength in provisions helped corn at time but lost Its effect at the close. Outs wero a little firmer most of the lesaion. There was little selling pressure, and they followed early gains in corn. In 'provisions thine was a big genera trade nt a highci level of values. May Investors and Ehorts advanced values. Busing opera tinns on higher hog market. Longs havo been the sellers. Some buying today looked forced and drove in a lot of shorts. -MARKET RANGKS WHEAT— Open. High. Low.
