MCULLOUCH At Imaniil H.ttr Hank th e truth about V CI othing prices as we find it If a thing is stated and restated often enough that thing virtually becomes a fact, whether or not it has any basis in fact. Every day for months and months the Department of Justice told the public through the newspapers that clothing (and other) prices were. coming down. Naturally the watch ful waiters began to multiply in number and this began to alarm certain merchants throughout the country wSose stock rooms were filled to over flowing with high-priced goods. Then along comes the Federal Resere Bank in its program of deflation and withdraws the credit which suppsrted the above accumulation of mer chandise, together with the stocks of unfinished and raw materials held by mills and manufacturers. Liquidation. was' the inevitable consequence and the public won the "first fall." We applaud their victory. We can do it cheerfully and sincerely, because we haven't been hurt in the shuffle. Foresight forestalled it. Operating a i we do on a cash basis, we have kept Durselves in position to take advantags of every break in the market how ever slight or short-lived it might be. We have been able to rebuy a great many articles quite a bit lower than initial purchases had cost us, and therefore we are able in some instances to sell identically the same goods forless than we sold them for last week rr last month. It is Blackburn's privilege and pleasure to give our custo mers every advantage we can. Blackburn's foresight and Blackburn's' cash give us a buying advantage not enjoyed by every clothier, and yu can believe us when we promise foi that none shall or can surpass m in value giving. s for prices next Fall, they will be higher probably 10 to 25 per cent ligher than they were this Spring. Tiis is not a guess, but is based on con tracts already signed by dealers throughout the country for goods al ready bought. The only thing that cai change this certainty is a voluntary reduction from the manufacturers, which is 'rather improbable, ai you know. In conclusion we'd like to urge, you to examine our values before you buy anything worn by men or boys, from anybody. Make a compan ion and we'll make a customer.
