On Monday evening the Hawaiian band will give a moonlight concert at Emma Square. His Majesty the King left for Kailua, Hawaii, on the W. G. Hall yesterday morning. Tenders are required by the Minister of the Interior for matting offices in the Gov ernment Building. The Hawaiian Mission Children's Society will meet this evening at the residence of Mr. Jutice McCully. lenders for the sale to the Board of Health of 200 head or less of heifers should be sent in before noon to-day. A confirmation will be held by the Bishop of Honolulu at St. Andrew's Ca thedral Sunday' evening at G o'clock. A subscription is about to be started to provide new awnings to the windows of the oliice of the publisher of the "Gazette." A lot of stylish hats in black, white and colored, at $1 and $1 25 each at the Popular Millinery House, N. S. Sachs, proprietor. Mr. Everard Milton Morgan has been appointed Commercial Agent for the Ha waiian Kingdom at Jaluit, Marshall Islands. A meeting of the Building Committee of St. Andrew's Cathedral will be held this af tern, on at 3 o'clock in the old Cathedral buildis.g. The band played on the wharf yesterday morning previous to the departure of the steamer W. G. Hall with His Majesty' the King on board. It the seating is completed the new organ in the Kaumakapili Church will be opened on Saturday evening, April 7th. Full par ticulars will be given hereafter. A large and well selected stock of milli nery goods, fine wings, fine birds, fancy feather pon pons, choice flowers and fancy edged watered ribbons, at Sachs' store. There will be a special children's service, addressed by Dr. Beckwith, in the Y. M. C. A. Hall Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock. All members of the Scripture Union are re quested to be present. The electric light was turned on last night. The streets about town were bril liantly illuminated, and no longer will the belated wayfarer be in danger of stumbling over the sleeping policeman. Mr. J. F. Morgan will hold his regular cash sale at 10 o'clock this morning, selling among other things, dry goods, clothing, potatoes, etc. At noon he will offer two carriage horses, a brake and two buggies. The first of a series of match games of football will be played at Makiki this morn ing at 10 o'clock between teams from the Kamehameha School and Oahu College. Both teams have been practicing during the week and a close contest is expected. At the next meeting of the Debating So ciety the subject will be, "Is the borrowing of English capital for public improvements and private enterprises a wise policy for the Hawaiian Kingdom?" Mr. John F. Smith will lead the affirmative and Mr. H. Adams the negative. Seizure of Opium. Antone Pettini, the cook of the bark Forest Queen, which recently arrived from the Coast, was charged in the Po lice Court yesterday morning with smug gling opium into the Kingdom, to-wit, 462 tins. He was remanded until this morning. Pettini was arrested on Thurs day evening by a Custom House officer with the opium in four sacks. Police Court. BEFORE POLICE JUSTICE DAYTON. Friday, March 23d.
