There was one of th old-time turn out for the drill of the First Regiment last evening. The adjutant's call was .sounded in front of the Drill Shed promptly at 7:30 and about five minu tes after the column was under maxcli for the Makiki base-ball grounds of the league. On this big field, Colonel Fish er kept the regiment moving at a lively rate, executing some pretty maneuvers in good style. A decided improvement is noticed in the marching and there is more snap in carrying out the com mands. Besides the Government band the regiment had all its field music out. In the absence of Major Jones, the first battalion was commanded by Cap tain Ziegler. Returning on Beretania street, the regiment had the pleasure of saluting President Dole and party in front of the residence of Col. W. F Allen. It was 10 o'clock when the command was dismissed inside the Drill Shed and men on the showing made and spoke particularly to the command of the various rifle contests now under way. During the evening the regiment had a heavy following in its marching and a large audience in the grand stand at the baseball grounds. For the benefit of the spectators, Captain Berger had the band give a. couple of selections at the ball grounds. The evening was an ideal one. LOST.
