He has a "corps of uniformed boys mounted on bicycles. The business is to be run on the same plan as messen ger service in the large cities of the United States. Mr. Camarinos has had something to do with similar enter prises elsewhere and is satisfied that the innovation will meet with such en couragement here that it will become a fixture. The telephone is No. 378. Calls will be answered promptly and there is given the guarantee of quick and satis factory service. Packages will be de livered, notes carried, etc., etc. Mr. Camarinos says he will allow the peo ple to give the service a fair trial and that upon the public alone depends the extent and life of the institution. There were several vessels fully due at San Francisco from the Hawaiian Islands on the 1st, and the May arrivals will probably ex ceed those of any month this year. IMPORTS. The town of Dornstetten. in Wur- temberg, has its funds so well invested that the inhabitant, instead of paying taxes, receive a bonus of $25 each an nually, besides free firewood and free use of land for raising vegetables. Aorangi, Hepworth commander, arrived in port early Wed nesday forenoon after a splendid run fmm the Colonies. Purser Mason kindly furnished the following report: "The C.-A. S. S. Aorangi, Comman der Hepworth, Lieutenant R. N i? lpft Svdnev on the 23d April, after A. C having embarked a large number of passengers and a heavy mail. Sydney hMds were cleared at 3 p. m. and fine weather was experienced to Welling ton which was reached at 9 a. m. on the 27th April. At that port a con siderable addition was made to her passenger list, almost filling the acco mmodation in every class. After re ceiving further mails on the follow ing day, left again at 4 p. m. making a very good run to Suva, arriving there at 7 a. m. on the 3d inst.
