Minister Sewall and Consul-General Haywood have offered their services to the Big 100. A gentle family horse, harness and light road cart all in good condition, is offered for sale. Geo. Martin, the wheelman, has been called into training as a candidate for a Myrtle Boat Club crew. Tomorrow at 12 o'clock noon, J. F. Morgan will sell the well known Bush property on Km ma street. Mr. and Mrs. Lambert will soon oc cupy one of Mrs. Hendry's handsome cottages on Pensarola street. There will be a special meeting of Pacific Bodge No. S22 this evening with work in the third degree. This is the night for the third of the series of handball games in the gymnasium of the Y. M. C. A. A quintette club has been engaged by the Officers' Club for music at the Bungalow during evening receptions. Arrangements are in progress as us ual for the scheduled baseball game at the Makiki League grounds on Satur day. The Commissary Committee on en tertainment of the U. S. Troops will meet at 0 this morning at the Finance office. There has been offered to the Big 100 use of the fine hall of the Waverley Club at any time the same may be needed. Before leaving for the States a few days ago, W. A. Bowen resigned his place as a member of the Board of Education. Capt. Geo. R. Carter has tendered free use of the boat house of the Hea lanl club to the Big 100 for entertain ment of visitors. A special meeting of the stockholders of the Pacific Sugar Mill .will be held Saturday, May 21, at 10:30 a. m. at F. A. Schaefer & Co.'s. Manuel, an apparently insane Por tuguese, was arrested in Palama last evening and is now at the police sta tion awaiting investigation. It will be the ladies' night of the organization Miss McDonald's lecture this morn ing at Mrs. Atherton's is of special in terest, the subject being the famous poem, Coleridge's "Ancient Mariner." Miss McDonald has decided to remain in Honolulu until June 14. The highest pole and the biggest flag will be sported by the Oahu Rail way Company through the efforts of Frank Bergstrom. The flag will be above the coal trestles in the harbor and will be 102 feet from the ground Tickets for the Queen's birthday ball are selling rapid!'. Macfarlane has instituted suit against the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Collector-General of Customs to force issuance of tempora ry registration under the Hawaiian Hag to the vessel Peter Jebsen, now at San Francisco. All members of the general commit tee of arrangements for the Queen's Birthday ball are urgently requested to meet at the home, of Mr. Kenny in Pa lama at noon on the 24th, ar the offi cial wishes especially to see them at that place and hour. The regular weekly meeting of the Christian Workers will be held this (Friday) afternoon. May 20th, at 3:30 o'clock at the Y. M. C. A. Hall. The meeting will be addressed by Rev. Dr. Berger. A cordial invitation is extend ed to all to be present. The Government and all the mem bers of the diplomatic and consular corps have been officially notified by Mr. Kenny, British representative of the Queen's birthday and have been requested to take cognizance of the same.
