The brig Consuelo, which sailed No ember 19th for Kahului from San Francisco, returned to port two days laterK with the dead body of her com mander, Captain Jacobson. He died at 3:30 o'clock in the morning of Novem ber 17th. He was stricken with apo plexy late on the night of the 16th, when the brig was but fifty miles off the heads. He was taken to his room and received all the attention possible under the circumstances, but died five hours after the seizure. Captain Ja cobson was a native of Norway, aged fifty-two years. First Officer Page was promoted to the command of the brig, and,- later in the day, the Consuelo sailed once more for her southern des tination. BORN. HOOGS In Honolulu. She is delayed a day on account of storms holding back the mail from across the Atlantic. The Comanche and Iroquois came off the dock at San Francisco last week. The work of getting the horse trans port Tacoma ready for another trip to Honolulu is taking considerably long er time than was at first anticipated. and it is said that it will be several weeks yet before she is ready for her second consignment of horses.
