There will be no concert by the Gov ernment band today. An attractive program has been arranged for the concert at Makee Island tomorrow aft ernoon. Between 400 and 500 seats have been sold for the Hawaiian concert to be given on the 27th at the opera house, .in the rehearsals all are showing marked improvement. Another public concert was given by thd quintette club at the Dimond & Company store last evening. Sam Johnson, a Chinese opium smuggler at Wailuku, was the first to re reive clemency. A Japanese, quite ill, can leave Oahu prison at once, instead of waiting till April. The Council declined to reduce the sen tences of the two Japanese murderers who are in for twenty years.
