She had been given up for lost and 10 per cent, reinsurance had been paid. She was eighty-two davs making the voyage. Rough weather delayed her. The famous Amesbury family of shipmasters are in command as fol lows: Capt. J. A. Amesbury, in the ship Roanoke: Capt. Fred. Amesbury. in the steel ship Puritan, both of which are now in New York, and Capt. E. T. Amesbury is in command of the ship S. D. Carlton, now chartered from Hongkong to Honolulu. A Burglary. The residence of Ralph Gear, on Punahou street, was entered by a burg lar Friday evening last Mr. and Mrs. Gear and their guest, Miss Allen, of the Hawaiian Foreign Office, were at the Central Union Christmas tree en tertainment. The thief went over the house quite thoroughly, secured a $5 gold piece and considerable jewelry. Miss -Allen is the heavy loser. She mourns for a watch and rings.
