Senator McCandless and several of the lawmakers as well as nearly all the draymen of the town are much inter ested in the specially constructed wide tire wagons brought here by the United States Government and just delivered to Col. Ruhlin, the quartermaster. Rumor has it that the launch of the leviathan White Star steamer Oceanic will be followed by the laying down of two even larger vessels for the Atlan tic service. They are to he S00 feet long, nearly 100 feet longer than the Oceanic, and 10 feet greater beam. This if true, will assure a busy time for the Belfast builders. It is announced that the Prussian Ministry have finally decided to intro duce a bill into the Diet during the coming session which will enable oper ations to be commenced on the canal connecting the Elbe, Weser and Rhine.
