NOTICE
May Flint Reinsurance.
SAN FRANCISCO. Jan. 25. Insur
ance men are gambling on the voyage
o.f the American four-masted ship May
Flint. Some anxiety is felt for the
ressel, though it cannot be said it is
overdue. The ship sailed from Hiogo.
Japan, for New York 150 days ago.
And since she left port she has not
.been spoken. An average "voyage be
tween the two ports is about 130 days.
DTtt as the May Flint is considered a
smart ship it is thought she should
have been at anchor in New York har
bor at least a month ago.
The May Flint is one of the best
known vessels in the American mer
chant marine. She was transformed
into a sailing ship from the British
steamer Persian Monarch, and as a re
salt she presents a peculiar appear
ance as a sailing vessel. Twenty per
fnt. reinsurance is now being quoted
in the ship.
'What is that French otttcer so ex
cited and angry about; Mimo one,
intending to be complimentary, spoke
of him as having forged his way to the
front." Puck.
