Transports Undergoing Repairs at Union Iron Works. SAN FRANCISCO. August 6. The transport Hancock is at the Union Ircn Works, undergoing extensive re pairs. She is being entirely overhauled and is to be fitted up inside similar to the Grant and Sherman. She will be held at the Union Iron Works for at least four weeks, and when finished will be the finest ship in the transport service. Her accommodations will be much improved, particular attention being given to her hospital. The latest improvements in that line are to be ob served. The ventilation will be per fect. It is estimated that the repairs will cost about $50,000, which includes overhauling and improvements on her machinery. It will be about six weeks before she will sail again. The hospital ship Relief will also un dergo extensive repairs, which will re quire about three weeks' time and which will cost about $30,000. LONDONERS LIKE "EL CAPITAN." LONDON, August S.
