Manuel Rodrigues Freitas, an em
ploye of Macfarlane & Co., died at his
residence on Punchbowl at 1:35 yes-
tprdav afternoon. The funeral takes
place tomorrow from the Catholic Ca
thedral at 3 o'clock. Deceased leaves
a widow and six children.
Miss Olivia Leavenworth, who has
been visiting her many friends in this
citv for the past few months, left last
evening on. the steamer Moana for her
home at San Rafael, Cal. A large
number of friends extended their
"ainha" atcthe wharf previous to her
departure.
