It is very possible that the let-t- r.s written to Dr. Averdam by Spilner may be used against the latter. Spil Bt admitted having written them. captain Wilier of the bark Ceylon did not give his testimony this time, as he was not called by the defense, but the captain is holding big cards up his sleeve, of which he will at present say nothing.
