Mayor Fern had a loi g talk last night with the members of the board of supervisors that is to be ai an early date. The matter of appropriations for the various offices was gone into tt ,' oughly. and although the members ka now definitely made up their mind as to what lines they are going to pursue, they decline to make any definite state ments until tliev meet otiieiailv. It is understood, however, that there are to be no great changes. i The only matter on which they prac tically came to a decision was the ques tion of the baud, and on that tliev are unanimous. A letter was before them last night asking what they intended to do in the matter, and they one and all voiced the opinion that the band must stay This will be good news to the bandsmen as it will most probably mean that their pay will take a move up the ladder to come into line with the rates prevailing at the vaudeville houses.
