McKINLEY RESOLUTIONS. Action of Merchant's' Association in re Death of President. The following resolutions were passed by the Merchants' Association in regard to the death of President Mc-Kinley and were forwarded, yesterday: By the Merchants' Association of Honolulu, Territory of Hawaii. Whereas. In tho death of William Mc- Kinley, President of the United Ssates, the world has lost one of its most efficient and conscientious rulers: this nation has lost one of its ablest and most enlightened members. whoe life as citizen, soldier, statesman and President has ijten such as to make him a model worthy of all emulation: this Territory has lost a friend who has done much to promote the welfare and enhance the material prospects of all its residents; and his family has lost a protector whose lovinR care and Ruidance can never be replaced. Be it therefore resolved, That in this trying time we do add to the general expression, that of our own heartfelt sorrow at the disaster which hqs befallen mankind, the loss which has ueen sustained by the nation, and our appreciation of all that was done by him for the interests of this Territory: and that we do furthermore extend to Mrs. McKinley and the other members of his family in this their great affliction our most sincere svmpathy and condolence. And be it further resolved. That these resolutions be spread upon the minutes of the Association and that copies be enrrossed and forwarded to Mrs. McKinley and to Hon. A. E. nitchcock.
