JiH&?t -**TI George White, Jr., age 14, son of George White formerly of Sanders Ari zona, and Nee Doris Mae Begayof Tuba City, Arizona, now farming land at Parker, Arizona, was recipient of the Grand Champion award for Showmanship and a blue ribbon for Fat Calf at the Northern Yuma Coun ty Fair at Parker, Arizona for his 4-H animal. Robert White, brother of George White, Jr., won Grand Champion Show man and Fat Lamb for his 4-H animal. Their Darlene WhitCjWon a red ribbon for her lamb. I I B Announcements of Vacancies Applications Solicited PAGE 6 Position: Treasurer of the Nava jo Tribe Introduction: The position of Trea surer was established by resolu tion of the Navajo Tribal Coun cil in May 1958, as an execu tive department of the Tribal or ganization. The Treasurer works under the supervision of the Di rector, Administration Division and is closely associated with the Chairman of the Navajo Tribal Council, the Executive Secretary, Division Directors, and Depart ment Heads. The position of Trea surer is appointive. Duties and Responsibilities: The Treasurer is responsible for the supervision of cash receipts, disbursements in accordance with approval budgets, balances and banking, and the protection and custody of funds, securities and financial instruments. He is res ponsible for functions relating to the forecast of funds and the cash position at future dates, as a guide to the availability or need for the withdrawal of funds. He is respon sible for advance, final and sup plemental budget preparation for consideration of the Navajo Tribal Council and the Bureau of Indian Affairs; for functions relating to the extension of credit to Tribal Employees in connection with the sale or distribution of products or services, and the timely collec tion of accounts and revenues; for functions relating to advances to others and collection thereof. Location: The incumbent will work and live in scenic Window Rock, located in northeastern Arizona, about 27 miles from Gallup, New Mexico.
