A woman in Washington, D.C. was asked: who was
London Johnson, who was the Secretary of Defense and
who was John A. Gornuski? She had no answers for
the questions but did have clear political reference of
her own. She said she’d vote for Dewey, rather than
Truman. "We’ve had too many Generals for Presi
dent, " she explained. "It’s time we had an Admiral. "

Rugs Bring Income
Cheechiigetoh Chapter people
took 12 days to spin, card, and
weave 8 rugs which are to be sold
to the Arts and Crafts Guild, for
approximately $35 apiece. The
rugs are made by the people at
this chapter and all proceeds are
used for the operation and main
tenance of the chapter house.
Vegetable dyes are donated by
the people in this community and
are used for dying the wool. The
wool is obtained (raw) at the Arts
and Crafts Guild in Window Rock.
The main purpose of rug-weav
ing in the chapters is to encourage
the young and old to retain the art
of weaving which is a fast and dying
one. It has been said that rug
weaving and similar projects by
Public Works helps in that they
keep the peoples’ minds occupied
