Klaer Corporation, has taken Its place
among the financial Institutions of In
dianapolis.
Sol Meyer, i resident of the Meyer-
Kiser bank, t'lli head the new institu
tion.
Sol S. Kiser will be first rice presi
dent.
Other officials include MelTille S. Cohn,
Julian J. Kiser and Ferdinand A. Merer,
vice presidents: L. E. Levey, secretary,
and Grace Jackson, treasurer.
Miss Blessing Fischer will be assistant
10 the president.
The new corporation will begin with
an established business, taking over the
banking business of the bank, which
showed over §3.000.000 resources in its
most recent report, as well as extending
an automobile funding business, which
last year reported a turnover of nearly
§4,000.000.
$300,000 ISSUE IS
AUTHORIZED.
In a statement issued by Sol Meyer
concerning the new organization, he said
that 10,000 shares of preferred stock, par
value of §IOO a share, aggregating
§1,000.000 will be outstanding, with an
issue of §500,000 common stock authorized,
s'■oo,ooo of which will be purchased and
owned by the shareholders of the Meyer -
Kiser bank.

Investors, he said, tn a basis of §IOO for
one share of preferred stock, par value,
and one share of common stock, par

The new financial firm Is the develop
ment of the firm of Meyer A Kiser,
organized in Indianapolis as brokerage
firm in 1805, operating under that name
until 1908, when the Meyer-Kiser bank
was founded.

CHICAGO, April 10.—Male loafers
in the county collector's office here are
to be deprived of their pleasure.
A private room, where women tax
payers may extract money from their
stockings unobserved, will be used
now.

today, “and we are going to do all we
can to help this city grow with ns.”
The scope of the automobile funding
business alone, Mr. Meyer outlined, has
extended to New York, Ohio, Pennsylva
nia, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and
other states.
“No securities now held by the Meyer-
Kiser bank will be transferred to the
new organization, but we will start
with a reputation backed up by figures,
and assured earnings from the begin
ning.” the new banking head stated.
All standard securities of high-grade
corporations, bonds of recognized value,
commercial paper, general banking and
real estate transactions will be carried
by the new corporation.
Incorporation papers were filed late
Saturday by the new institution, and
announcement was made today of the
plans of the new firm.
Red Cross Loses
War Records in Fire
A large number of valuable war rec
ords were destroyed by fire in the Amer
ican Red Cross headquarters, 515 518
Lemcke building, it was annonnced to
day. .
The fire broke out late Saturday eve
ning and was of unknown origin.
The storeroom. In which the records
were kept, and two other office rooms
were damaged.
There was much excitement in the
building when the flames were first no
ticed, the upper floors being filled with
smoke, which prevented the operation
of elevators.

The deputy constable notices that the
lightning bugs have begun to appear at
night, and they all seem to be complying
with the traffic regulations In the way
of tail-lights.
Legion Will Hear
Ralph Cole Sunday
Ralph D. Cole of Findlay, 0., formerly
lieutenant colonel of the Thirty-seventh
division, will be the principal speaker at
a meeting of the American legion and
former service men next Sunday after
noon at the Clavpool hotel.
Mr. Cole aided in making plans for the
founding of the legion while b was in
France.
He was also a congressman for alxi
years prior to the war.
