8 A delightful party was given by tbe.j elnmnl ol Alpha Phi at the Woodstock club last night in honor of the visitors who tare come to Indiana to attend the national convention of the stwority. at i Greencastle. A special car brought the women from i Greencastle yesterday afternoon. Ma- j tliines met the party and took them out . to the club, where dinner was served. At one long table the national board f and national officers and Indianapolis i hostesses were seated. Small tables were laid for the various groups. Baskets of ramblers decorated the din ing room and at each place was a nose gay of pastel shaded flowers which, on . lose examination, proved to be made ot candy. Following the dinner a dance was held in the ballroom and “bridge” and ”600” were played In the parlors. Asa finale the girls all joined hands in true fraternal style and sang a group of Alpha Phi songs. Mrs. Don Tr.Uis, president of the 10,-al ,-al alumni chapter, was In charge of general arrangements. She was assisted by Mrs. H. M. Talbott, Mrs. James Car. . ter, Mrs. B. J. Houser, Mrs. Frederick Bird and various other women of the Indianapolis chapter. Tonight the banquet will be held at Greencastle, which will conclude the con, ventlon sessions. • • • Miss Elisabeth Jefferies, daughter of j Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Foil Burglar’s Effort to Enter Apartment An attempt by a burglar to use a Are escape to enter the apartment of George Blose, 635 North Pennsylvania street, did •not prove successful last night. Blose saw the burglar on the fire es cape and telephoned police headquarters. The company is organized under the laws of Delaware, with a capital of SIOO.OOO, and will manufacture a ready mixed desert cake flour. Equipment for an initial output of 15,000 packages a day will be Installed in the plant, and it Is expected that pro duction of the cake flour will be com menced within forty-five days. Welfare Club Party Holds Many Features Rambler roses, golden coreopsus and field daisies made a garden-like setting for the all-day party of the Welfare club, which was held this afternoon at the suburban home of Mrs. A. M. Er brich. 5671 Central avenue, in honor of Mrs. Robert St. Pierre. A luncheon was served at noon, which was followed by a movie show, contin ued through the entire afternoon. A fortune telling booth at times lured the more superstitious from the picture screen to learn their future from the mysterious seer. A musical program was given by Mrs. J. E. Berry, contralto; Mrs. Harry Mar tin, soprano, and Mrs. Frank B. Hun ter, pianist. This evening the husbands of the members were to Join the party and dine on the lawn, after which cards were to be in order. An Interesting feature of the day was the completing of the details for incor porating the club under the state laws. The organization is a most interest ing one. They are the patronesses of the Indi anapolis home for aged women. The money raised by them by their various affairs goes for social enter tainment and luxuries for the old ladles.
