turkey gobblers of Jackson county are
co-operating to Insure a big crop of
Thanksgiving birds this year.
John Langston, a farmer living north
east of Seymour, missed one of his gob
blers a week ago, but later found hi®
sitting on a nest of eggs in the woods
back of the house.
Langston fears that the hen has Joined
the shorter work day movement and the
gobbler was left with the domestic cares.
Salvage of Georgia
Army Camp Ordered
WASHINGTON, Aug. 6.—The war de
partment today issued orders to the
southeastern department for the aban
donment and salvage of Camp Gordon,
in Atlanta, Ga.
Troops now at Camp Gordon, includ
ing the Fifth division, with the exception
ot the Fifth Held artillery, will be
transferred to Camp Jackson, S. C.
The movement of the troops and the
abandonment of the camp is not ex
pected to be completed before early fail, j
