A striking Impersonation of eleven characters In “A Square Deal.' a playlet which is an adaptation from “Hit the Trail Holiday,” was made by Edwin Whitney of ltoston. Mass., at the men's big meeting at English’s Theater yester day. The 6tory tells of a yonng man who, out of spite, leads a moral life with the result that he “turns over anew leaf," to the surprise of himself and everybody else. Dr. Virgil E. Rorer, new pastor at the Meridian Street M. E. Church, will be the speaker at the big meeting next Sun day afternoon, according to the announce ment of A. H. Godard, chairman of the arrangement committee. Dr. Ilorer, who took the Indianapolis pasturage last month, came here from Philadelphia. A ladies’ meeting will be held Dec. 1!). Music was furnished by the Y. M. C. A. Orchestra under the direction of L. A. Von Staden. The meeting was attended by 1,000 persons and a collection of <l5O was received. At a meeting of the boys of the Y. M. C. A. Saturday night. 11. C. Gclhathy of the American Steel A- Wire Company gave a talk on “Personality.” The address was followed by a program of games and tournaments. The following are winners in the tournaments: Clarence Hulvey. tennis; William Whaley, table tennis; Merle Calvert, checkers; Jack Davis, nams contest. I. X. Courthouse Not Fit for Women Juries’ Use Special to The Times. KOKOMO, lad., Dec. 6.—Judge W. C. Overtun of the Howard Circuit Court has Indicated that he will provide for women upon Juries. County Clerk Henry Quig ley Is opposed to the plan because of in adequate accommodations. The court house is an antiquated structure and has no suitable accommodations for women members of Juries who might be forced to remain at night. Special to The Times. WABASH. Ind., Dec. 6. —Women will not serve on Juries in the Wabash Cir cuit Court next year unless they are se lected as substitutes after the regular panel has been excused. Mrs. Emma I’arr and Katherine Ram sey, first woman Jury commissioners to be appointed in Indiana, selected the names of 125 persons liable for Jury service next year. Those selected are nil men, the commissioners following the wishes of the circuit Judge. Shoe Prices Are Cut WHEELING, W. Russell B. nar rlson, Indianapolis attorney and a mem ber of the new State Legislature, who was Injured In tha automobile accident which killed four men Sunday after noon near Irvington, was described to day as “Just fair” at the Methodist hos pital, where he was taken following the wreck. Those killed are: Nick Clones, Grand Hotel, owner of the Athens restaurant, BS-35 W est Maryland street. George Patsos, % Indiana ave nue, owner of the Orpheam case, 217 Indiana avenue. James latson, Stubblns Hotel, owner of the Victory coufeetlonery, Illinois and Maryland streets Harry Ilard.v. employe of Clones ( suffered u rracturod skull and broken left l leg: died at hospital. Colonel Harrison suffered n sprained back, cuts on the head and was said to be suffering a shock. Physicians be lieve he will recover. He lives at the Columbia Club. ACCIDENT ON NATIONAL ROAD, EAST. The accldcut occurred at the old Stop 5 crossing ou the National road nt 4 o’clock yesterday afternoon, when an inbound Terre Haute, Indianapolis and Eastern Traction Company car struck an automobile containing the five men. Clones, who was driving, was turning in to a driveway leading to the Sun-Lite Gas Company plant. The machine was going west on the National road and the Interurban was ; bound in the same direction. Three wit nesses to the tragedy sny the motor- j man repeatedly sounded a warning whistle, but that Clones turned bis ma- j chine into the path of the oncoming car, traveling at a rate of about forty miles an hour. The machine was burled Into the air, dropping on the tracks about twenty feet from the point of the crash. The traction car ran almost the distance of a city block before it was stopped. Coroner Robinson anil the police say the party was bound for Ft. Benjamin Harrlspn, where Colonel Harrison was to represent a Greek named Spirit** at a court-martial and turned off to see W. il. Mitchell, a client of Colonel Harrison. Mitchell, K. R. Denny of Greenfield, motorman on the Interurban. and O. K. Stewart of the Sun Lite Gas Company, were the only witnesses to the mishap, i Stewart corroborated Motorman Denny's statement that repeated warnings were sounded. I. AT SON AND PATSOS KILLED INSTANTLY Latson and Patsos were killed tnstirut ly, while Clones died about fifteen min utes later, after the emergency automo bile had arrived from police headquar ters. The injured men were carried Into the Mitchell home by Mitchell and Stewart. Colonel Harrison regained consciousness soon after being taken Into the house, but was unuble to talk. The police Identified the dead men by letters found in their pockets. Colonel Harriaou and Hardy were taken to the Methodist Ho pitat where the latter died about SI.JO o’clock Sunday night. The bodies of the dead men were taken to the city morgue. The motorman of the Interurban will not be held, according to Coroner Rob inson.
