SPANISH TROOPS
FIGHT STRIKERS
Serious Disorders Reported
Sweeping Country.
PARIS, Dec. 9. —Serious disorders of
a revolutionary character are sweeping
many parts of Spain, says an Exchange
Telegraph dispatch from Madrid. A gen
eral strike Is reported to have been de
clared.
It Is believed at Madrid that martial
law may be declared.
Fighting in which many persons were
wounded, has broken out at numerous
places. Scores of arrests have been made.
Workers in Madrid, Valencia, Seville
and Barcelona have joined the strike,
paralyzing industry. Troops are guard
ing property.

OMAHA. Neb., Dec. 9.—Waiter E. An
derson hopped off his pony here today,
following a 300-mile ride from Ogaliala,
Neb., and applied for admission into the
Array, after being rejected by the Navy
and Marines because of a ringworm on
bla cheek. He said he could shoot “a
'little” and hit a 2-eent piece four times
out of four at thirty paces, and put out
a lighted candle twice out of four shots.
He was accepted.
