Is Robert Stoopa for bridges across
our rivers, or is Ka against them? We
aro'credibly Informed, that John Sam
uels mado a speech In Butler township,
last week, in which ho unequivocally
stated, that Stoops was opposed to the
county building bridges, unless a ma
jority of the people vote for them.
We are told that Mr. GotT, of Sprinfield
township, enquired of Mr. Stoops how
he stood on this question, and that ho
made the same statement to him.
About Prookville, and among the
people interested In brjdgcs, the under
standing prevails that Mr. Stoops is
distinctly In favor of county building
bridges. Who can tell on what grouud
the gentleman stands?

me out' for County Treasurer against
Frank Bauer. This thurgo hut been
mabj by certain party sneaks, in order
to induco Mr. Bauer's ft lends to Tote
for Mr. Batzner.
I take great pleasure in giving the fid
even at this late hour, to this infamous
charge, and say to all that Mr. Bauer
will be unanimously supported by the
Republicans ns an Independent enndi
date, and that my name, nor any other
person's, will bo printed on any ticket
fur that oflko, unless fraudulently by
