Fuel Shortage Results in Two Passen ger Trains Coming Off. Because of the fuel shortage two Chicago Great Western passenger trains will be annulled, effective at 12:01 Monday morning. They are No. 55, southbound out of this city at 7: Id on tho new schedule effective at mid night tonight, and No. 6, north out of here at 10:35 p. m. Two other passenger trains will be annulled between Des Moines and Kan sis City, Nos. 5 and 54. Xo. 5 Is the forenoon train south out of this city, running at 10:10 on the pew schedule. No. 54 lq, the evening train north at 7:55 o'clock. The annulment of the3u trains, however, not effective be tween Des Moinesland Oelwein. The Cedar Fal'.d branch train, ac cording to the new scheuule, will con nect only with No. 5. Equipment for the Chicago train, at 10:35, will be carried 11:23. The acquisition of the Merryman herd gives to Mr. Hicks one of the very best herds of grade Holstoln cows In the state. The Merryman herd consists of twenty bead, of milch cows, five heifer calves, and a herd bull. Mr. Merryman has been twenty years building the herd, and disposing of them only because he has sold his farm and la preparing to move off the place the first of March.
