to n severe mechanical thrashing
this morning and will be unable to
work for several days
Temple had been sent out to work
on a car which had just been left by
a freight train The air reservoir was
filled with compressed air and Tem
plo turned oh the angle cock which
releases tho pressure The coupling
hose used In connecting the air from
car to car hangs from the end of the
pipe a distance of three feet or more
and the hose began to swing violent
ly I from side to side and up and down
Tho terrific air pressure caused a
rapid fire movement and before Tem
ple realized It and could remove to
a place of safety was subjected to a

bearing an Iron valve struck hint In
the thigh hips knees and ankle at
the rate of 100 blows a minute and
before the man could get away ho
wan sorely bruised but fortunately
no bones broken Ills ankle was hurt
tho worst and ho had to be carried
into the mill to recover Ho was
treated at the hospital and will be
laid off for several days probably
