Chicago, Sept. 8.—Strength developed In corn prices, owing to temperatures which traders regarded too low for sea sonal maturing of the crop. The govern ment estimate suggesting that the crop would be the largest on record was g erally ignored. Opening prices, which ranged from % to Vfcc higher, with I ce her at $1.14% to $1.15, and May at 11.10% to $1.11, were followed by a r terlal further advance. Prospects of continued cool weather afterward to a further advance. The close was unsettled, 1 to l%c not higher at $1.15% to $1.15% December and $1.11% to $1.11% May. Seaboard demand gave firmness to oats. Current ligures on the supply of wheat in tiie United States, including the carry over from last year, made the total 71b. 000,000 bushels.
