The Balaville Tribune, which has poked considerable fun at The Searcblibh for its repeated asser tions that the branch would be op orated from Cultertsoa, came Out last week with an article admitting that Brother Reed was probably right. Just why the road wascnot built up Stafford's Coulee in the rst place is not very clear to the Searchlight, but that plans are be ing mreade to that end now seems to be an assured fact. However, the people of Culbert son can rest assured that when a man in the high position of L. W. Hall makes a promise that it will be fulfilled. Following is the article that ap peared In the Bainvilte Tribune last week : There has beeu a pernsest rumor that Culbertson was to the Juactioa poist for the sew branch istead d Balville, as a log lasisted by Bro. Parve c. dsemustre de Oe C.umert ea Wednesday Night. The citisas of Caulbrtson who wpre lucky enough to attend the concert Wednesday evening of Pof. Bistolf's Orchestra, were hiy entertained. W.lhile the orchestra is compos ed of only three members, each one is as artistic player upon his own especial instrument. The combination guitar, harp and flute played by Prof. Bistol was a un ique but very eSective musical in strument. Hery Lianstman is an expert vi olisnt and rendered a classical so lo which so pleased the audience and the applause was so vigorous that he gave them another selec tion. The banjorine, a combanation of banjo and tamborine, played by Prof. Paul Renjou, was another unique and effective instrument. As a whole the orchestra played the most dilcult classical music in a manner much appreciated by lovers of music. The orchestra will receive a warm welcome should it ever visit Culberteso again. After the concert the orchestra played dance music and many of the young people flung the light fantastic toe a couple of most en joyable hours. BLESSED RAIN Celbertoan as tIad Plenty e MeIsture the Past Week and PaImners ReIles. A fiee rain fell in Culberteon and vicinity last Friday. Another came Saturday afternoon; more moisture fell on Monday and on Tuesday night rain fell practically all night. The beat feature of the ffair is that this vast tonnage of water all soaked into the ground, as it came slow and at iatervals. Although harvest as about con cluded and threshing is under way among the farmers, the interfer ance with their work was more than offset by the great benefit de rived by the moisture. After traveling over the dry country along the G. N. Railway west of Glasgow where hardly a blade of green grass has grown during the season, except under irrigatian, it is certainly good to get back to God's country as ea amplified by Valley county, Meoat. Especially is this true of eastern Valley county, where the halls, dales, farms and ranches are coy ered with a healthy green verdure. The climate, soil and rainfall in this favored vicinity combine to make this one of the best farming localities along the line of the Gnreat Northern RailWly, and this is shown most conclusively this season, which has been a most es cessively dry one all over the west era states. Of course the farmers of eastern Valley County are not getting the the bumper crops of last year. but all are getting some return from th soil, and the scintific farmers are getting splendid reterns The dilerence between scimntifc methods of dry farming and the caele methods of cultivating the pound used by many is much me marked this season than in other years when a normal amount of meoiture falls is the spring of the year, and the lesson is being learned by the ereles farmers The Searchlight predicts that when tee nest series of famers' institutes are held sn eaters Val ly county, a much greater num br dU wll e isattsqama taeve bsfoan I WALK-OVER SHOBS FOR MEN Meet all requirewets-for work or for dress.
