The Driver Knocked Senseless and Several passengers More or Less Injured; Some Seriously. The most serious accident that has ever happened on the Helena & Benton stage line, in fact the only one of any conse quence, occurred about noon of the 31 at a point two miles beyond Mitchell's ranch. The coach left Helena in the morning heavily loaded with freight and passen gers; seven passengers on top, and three ladies, three babies and a gentleman in side. At the time of the accident they were driving along at a rapid rate, and descending a slight grade at the same time making a little turn, when over -the coach went, and the outside passengers were thrown to the ground and those within terribly shaken up. The following are the names of those injured : Jack- , the driver, spine injured; was unconscious for some time after being picked up. His injuries are very serious. Mrs. Anna Kavanaugh, formerly of Buttei on her way to Augusta, spine in jured. Mrs. Thos. Bryant, Augusta, teeth knocked out, and otherwise badly bruised. Mrs. Lyons, Grand Forks, Dakota, left arm broken. Wm, Sprague, Sun River, spine injured. E. B. Treutlen, post office inspector, bad cut in forehead. Several other passengers were more or less injured. One t~au, our informant satys, was knocked crazy. The babies es caped without injury. Jessie Sample was on the coach but was uninjured. The injured passengers who were unable to `travel were taken to Mitchell's ranch and a doctor from Helena was telegraphed for. Mrs. Lyons was on her way to see her sick son tt Great Falls, having been tele graphed for. There was a lot of apples on board for G. 'W.
