LakeJ* in DENVER MEETING IS IMPORTANT TO MONTANA "The Denver meeting between di rectors of the American Wheat Growl ers Associated and the National Ad visory committee headed by Ex. Gov. Lowden *is vitally important to Mon tana." This was the statement of C. M. Strawman, Manager of the Montana Wheat Growers' Association, on his return from a recent conference in Minneapolis with officials of the American Wheat Growers. Mr. Straw man was called to Minneapolis in con nection with the business of the Mon tana Association. While there, he had a conference with George C. Jewett, who is General Manager of the Amer ican. "It is probable," said Mr. Strawman, in definite action toward uniting all "that the Denver meeting will result interests in the big drive for a nation al wheat pool. A number of import ant matters will doubtless be taken up by the conference. Ways and means will be discussed for financing the drive, for one thing. Just what will be done about the financing, of course, rests entirely in the future, possible, too, that some recommenda tions will be made touching some of the state organizations already in ex istence. I understand," Mr. Strawman con tinued, "that the plan and character of the organizations in Montana, the Dakotas, and the northwestern states has been definitely approved by the Advisory Comittee. Whether or not any suggestions will be made touching some of the newer organizations, re mains to be seen. There has been some discussion, of unofficial character, touching the advisability of a zone system of or ganization for the various wheat lo calities in the country. It will possi bly be more practicable, for instance, to handle Indiana, Illinois and Iowa wheat in one zone, and wheat from Motana and the Dakotas in another. Whatever the conference decides upon will vitally concern the wheat poolig movement, and we shall all av^ait with interest the outcome." It was decided at the recent confer ence in Chicago that the men inter ested in that meeting should meet again in Denver with th© directors of the American Wheat Growers Associ ated.
