He expects a still better showing i n 1928. was Four Billion Imported Eggs For Britain Every Year London, England, March 14 (Auto caster)—Great Britain's breakfast egg bill mounts up pretty high, the citizens of that country consuming 5,700,000,000 eggs a year. Native fowls only supply two billion of these. The sum of money spent by Britain for eggs imported from outside the British Empire, which constitute for ty-seven per cnet of Britain's impor tations of this article of food, ceeds the value of all the motor cars, motorcycles, cycle and rubber tires which Britain exports. The imperial economic council wants something done about it. English hens laid 72 eggs in the pre-war period to their present 10,000, but the eggs smaller at present. ex are HANS RASMUSSEN WRITES ABOUT CALIF. Sheridan County Man Tells About Things As They Are. Feb. 29th, 19228. Producers News: When people think of California, most of them think of the wonderful palm trees. Lots of them think Mon tana would be a much better place tu live if they only had palm trees. There is no reason why Montana could not have them. Plentywood could have the most wonderful grove of palm trees, if the Commercial Club one else would go to work and tie armful of bullrushes, or slough hay a bio- Rusian thistle to the top of each telephone pole in town. Nobody would be able to tell but what it was the real thing and it would be a fine place for the sparrows to build nests '^■That's all palm trees are good for anyway. _ California is bone dry, just like Montana. They tell me the water is good here but I don't drink it. I have wine served with my meals—don't that make your teeth water? The wine is not intoxicating of course. If it was people here would not drink it—in that respect they are just like the people Of Montana. California is mostly big hills with a few valleys in between. In order to keep the cattle from fallin when grazing on the hill sides, they have plowed _ furrows around and around the hillsides. It puzzled me how they had gotten the furrows plowed without the horses falling down, but after it is explained to you or some .m a or in. down tr Thirty-six (36) North of Range Fifty-eight E. Very naturally the two out side legs would keep on growing until they reached the ground. San Francisco must have had *a spell of socialism once upon a time, lhe city owns part of the street car system. It is the only place I know where a ride can still be had for 5c but spending a couple hours each day on a street car is no fun even if it is cheap. Lots of people do that their lives. At the seashore, among a lot of junk, someone was showing Hinkman in Life Size", and people were really paying monev to see him. So now I suppose prune peddlers are traveling all oyer the country showing Hickman in Life Size. Who wouldn't like to be a Hickman ? What is the use of being a Lindbergh, or Lincoln, or Napoleon when it is much greater and much easier to be a Hickman. Eighty-three workmen of the Cowell Cement Co. here were each rewarded with a button the other day, with privilege to wear same. This won derful gift was only given to those who had not met with any accident during the last year. The reward given to prevent workers from getting into the habit of breaking their __ and otherwise getting hurt just for pastime and the fun of it. Funny they did not think of handing out buttons like that during the The Commercial Club of Oakland, was out gopher hunting the other day and thought they had a glorious time. Just how they would act if they got on a real rabbit drive in Montana, I would like to know. Regards to all, HANS RASMUSSEN, P- S.
