Information from Benton states that W. S. Wetzel & Co., of that place have assigned to the Bank of Northern Montana, one of their heaviest credit ors. The firm's liabilities are vari ously stated at from $120,000 to $140, 000, of which about one-third is duo Montana creditors, mostly banks, and the balance to eastern dealers. At tachments are being filed by territorial creditors, and they will probably se cure themselves against all loss. The assets are very large, and it is believed will almost, if not quite, cover tho debts of the firm. Wetzel k Co. was one of Benton's heaviest general mer chandise concerns, and was regarded as very substantial. Losses by tho Barker failures and a dull season's trade are stated as the cause of tho suspension. Private intelligence received this morning by letter to the Enterprise from Dillon states that on Monday last two heavy failures occurred in that town. Kirkpatrick Brothers, general merchants, and E. W. Butts, furniture dealer, both assigned, and another big firm, whose name is not given, is re garded as shaky. It was thought that Kirkpatrick Brothers might relieve themselves of their difficulties and re sume business, but the other was hopelessly involved.
