AGRICULTURAL. Retuiun for July Received at Iho Department of Agriculture. Washington, August 2. The following ia a condensation of tho oiop returns for July received ut the Department of agri culture : Never hits the ltejmrtiucnt been ublo to report bo fuvoruble a piospcct fur uniformly good crops since the establish ment of tho Stntislcul Division. While ex aggerated statements huve been nmde In influential jmpoM, especiully of the so-called fuiluro of tho wheat crop of lust year and the importation of wheat in tho fuee of the fact that twelve millions of dollars worth of bread-stuffs were exported in the first four months of 1807, iuuueuso numbers of emit grants were fed, a much larger nmoitut of wheat used for seed than usual, with u sur plus still remaining over sufikiout to break numerous speculators and banks. It is grat ifying to know that we shall have a surplus to more than mnke good the defleieucy, not tho fuilure, for there never was a failure of the wheat crop in this country. Of the lust throo crops of wheat three or four States West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, and Indi ana made but half a crop. No other States woro in tho category : aud Iowa, Missouri and Kansas made a crop. Instead of a de duction of 50 per cent, on 00 millions of bushels of wheat, which would at least have threatened a famine, scarcely more than a third of that deduction should bo made1 For threo years past tho product has been but about fivo bushels to each inhabitant. The crop of 1809, if the census returns are correct, was about five and a half bushels to each person ; tho promise for tho present year is about six bushels. The statistical returns for July show an improvement in tho condition of Winter Wheat over last year, in every State but Texas, Nebraska and Minnesota, tho di minution in the latter caso being but 4 per cent. Tho highest improvement is in Ohio, 100 per cent ; Wost Virginia, 73 ; Georgia, 96, Tennessee, 72 ; Indiana, 54 ; Kentucky, 23 ; Michigan, 35 : Vermont, 25 ; New Jersey, 25 ; New York, 17. .Spring Wheat was a far less variable product than last year, consequently less variution in the figures need in tho present comparison. All the States however, except A'ermout, New York, and Pennsylvania, show an in crease on last year. Corn. The average in corn U unusually large, every state showing a material in crease except Mains, New Hampshire. New York, and South Carolina. In tho South ern States tho increase ronges upwards lu 102 percent, as in Arkansas. The condi tion as reported is a little deficient in the Northern and Western States on account cf the lateness of the spring. With the con tinuanco of the present weather there is mple opportunity to mukc up the entire eficicney, in which case tho yield will Le inprccedeuted. Jijc A glance at tho tables will show ho fine condition of this grain and the rc uarkablo uniformity of the improvement. Barley, Tho condition of this train promises an increase of from 10 to 20 per cent, in iua-aviiuftt, JMinilo Island, Con necticut, New Jersey, West Virginia, Ken tucky, and Indiana, and 14 per cent, in Ohio. Most of tho other States shoe some increase. Oalf, Tho condition of oaU points to a lull avtrago m the West particularly in Wisconsin aud Minnesota ; also, in Massa chusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, and tho South : sliuhtlv less than last year in Maine, Vermont, New York and jventucky. Pastures ami . These crops are ol- most universally largo from an average up to 15, 20 and even 30 percent. Potatoes The report of acreage of po tatoes indicates a larger area planted in ev ery State except Maino and New York The condition is also above an average with n few exceptions, among which are New York, Ohio, and Indiana. Fruit. Peaches are so exceptional in their successful reasons and localities that estimates for States can scarcely be made with accuracy. New Jersey, as indicated by very general returns, shows 03 per cent, improvement over last year ; Maryland, 25 i Delaware, 150 ; Virginia, 25. Michigan, 127. In other Statos estimates are given upon whatever data was received, generally showing a considerable incrcaso over last year. Applos are promising in portions of New England, the Allegheny region, aud the West Grapos are more uniform in the average of States aud generally appearing unusually well. It has been a more successful vear for strawberries than usual, as a study of tbe table will show. Sorghum. The Sorghum croD is ecner- ally returned as in a comparatively poor condition with lower figures than any other crop. Ohio and Indiana indicate a deft cioncy in average of 11 per cent. All tho principal Sorghum growing States show a similar state of facts. Tobacco is much like Sorghum, mani festing a decline in average and quality gen erally. Cotton. There is an increasoofaocragoin North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and Arkansas. Texas, 10 1-10; Mississippi -riv. ii.u uumgu in uuuiu mo same as last year. 1 hero is a slight difference as re ported in favor of tho present crop. Tbe Department estimates, made last Oetobor, of 1,835,000 bales, proved to bo singularly accurate for annroximalo ealcu lations of so early a date, though they were overelyciticisod by Northern and South ern speculators, some of whom publicly ac knowledged their error after the crop was jo d. It la too early to predict tho success ful svoidancoof all tho numerous enemies L ?U)n" ijHad the l,,st C-P been a good one it would have yielded 2 800,000 bale " Lvoryrf, one. ruld hWi3 3,000; 000. buch results are possible this year, Moo. -Anamination of this fusm of tables will show that losses of shoop, uu thrifty condition, and a wet spring, have had an influenco both upon nimbus and weight of floooe, and will lead to the con elusion that our wool clfe of the present yoar is not materially larger than that of last year. I.ivkh Complaint, Jacniucb, nurf all Bilioui At'.rtinns nriso from some derangement either torpidity, congestion, or obstructions of the Liver. Torpidity and congestion vitiate the bile and render it unfit for digestion. This is disnstrmts to the health, and the constitution ia frequently under mined I) v no olhor causo. Indigestion is the symp tom. Obstruction of the duct which empties the bile Into the stomach causes the bile to overflow into the blood. This produces Jaundice, with a long and dangerous train of evils. Coativcuess, eg alternately cusliteucss und diarrhoea, prevails. Feverish symptoms, languor, low spirits, weariness, restlessness, and melancholy, with sometimes ill ability to sleep, nnd simietiinea great drowsiness) sometimes tim e is severe pain in the side ; the skin and the while of the eyes become a greenish yellow ; the stomnrh acid; the bowels sore to the touch; tiic whole system irritublo, with a tendency to fever, which ttinv turn to bilious fever, bilious colic, bilious diari'liieiiilvsi ntcrr, Ac. A medium dose of three nr four Pills' taken at night, followed by two or three in the morning, and repeated a few days, will remove tho cense of all these troubles, ll is nicked tn sillier such pnins when )ou can cure them for 2o cents. Kiikumatism, (Jolt, onrf all lufiunmuitoiy l'f rrrs nro rnpiillv cured by the purifying effects of those Pills upon the Mood and the stimulus which they afford to tho vital principle of Life. For these and all kiiuhcd complaints they should be taken in niilil doses, tn move the limvels gently, but freely. Asa Iiin.nku I'll. I., this is both agreeable and useful. No Pill can be made more pleasant to take, and certainly none has been made mnro effectual to the purpusu fur which a dinner pill is employed. PltcrARF.n IIV . DR. J.
