Hilstrom Still
Holds The Fori
Much of Wednesday was taken up
In Justice George Webb's Court, hear
ing the ejectment proceedings of John
S. Evans vs. Mr. Hilstrom, tho baker.
Mr. Evans has sold the property to
Albert Hall, who Intended to take
It oer May 15th, but Hilstrom
claims possession bccnuBc of u two
year lease which ho says was given
verbally with the understanding that
It would be duly made In writing lat
er. Mr, Evans says that Hilstrom was
Just renting from month to mOntli,
with the understanding that the pluco
wus to be vacated In the event of a sale.
The case wus further complicated be
cuuse of the transfer having been
mudo to Mr. Hull prior to tho com
mencement of tho proceedings.
Mr. Evans wns given the decision
and Mr. Hilstrom has taken an appeal
to the District Court, who will not
hear tho appeal until July. In tho
meantlmo Hilstrom holds the fort and
Mr. Hall Is waiting to commence busi
ness In the proporty, which he owns
but does not possess.

Rnlph Leiter H recovering mos'
satisfactorily from his operation,
though ho will probably novo to re
main eight weeks longer In tho hos
pital. In making tho operation, two
strips of tho bone wcro taken from
tho lower pnrt of his leg, nnd grafted
Into his backbone, thus replacing tho
parts eaten nway by tuborculosls of the
spine. Tho doctors say that ho will
be as well nnd strong as nny ordinary
man when they nro through with him.
