Death came to one Of the just and true of
heart a1d
that beautiful spring morning Jt hushed
the pulse of onetvhose nature was strong to respond
1e
it pond in quick vibrations to every sob or grief
quieted the ceaseless activity of an untiring
brain it set free a soul of soaring and indomit
able courage it stilled a great and gentle heart
Perhaps the strongest trait in her character
was her stern unflinching sense of right truth
and justice tempered by a spirit of mercy and
pity that forgave nil personal injuries at a half
expressed repentance while
repentlee whie overshadowing
every other quality in her nature was a sacred
reverence for friendship and a deep and yearn
lag gratitude for Idndncss however slight or
from whatever source bestowed
V This life for her was a rough and stormy one
but her brae spirit had never lUnched at the
f I tempests keenest blast Mercifully there came
a great calm at its close That peace which
passeth understanding settled down on the
weary soul and it winged its light from earth
i the soft radiance of a cloudless sky
