Salt Lake a newfangled institution
there began slowly to be a demand fo foabstracts for forabstracts forabstracts r
abstracts on the part of purchasers
Then arose a new idea among man manlandowners many y
landowners towit that the posses possession possession ¬
sion of an abstract was conclusive evi evidence evIdence evidence ¬
dence in n Itself of a good title But Butmore Butmore Bu t
more enlightened methods prevailed prevailedand prevailedand
and purchasers began to have their ab abstracts abstracts a astreets ¬
stracts examined before buying or mak making makIng ¬
ing loans For awhile and to a con considerable considerable considerable ¬
siderable extent down to the present presentday presentday presen te t
day the idea prevailed that a certificate certificatefrom certifIcatetrom certiflcatfrom e
from an examiner or attorney showing
the condition of title according to ab abstract abstract ¬
stract was a safe guide Then cama came camea e
a number of court decisions completely completelyupsetting completelyupsetting
upsetting the opinions of these examiners examin ¬
ers and causing heavy losses to the theholders theholders th e
holders of property who held these thesecertificates thesecertlficates
certificates of good title These to together together together ¬
gether with forgeries alterations of In Instruments Instruments ¬
struments and other startling crimin criminalities crImInaHtIes eriminalities ¬
alities on the part of prominent of officials officIals officials ¬

they simply had to take the recor recoras record recordas
