There is one attraction that has visited
the Salt Lake theatre during the present
theatrical season that local amusement
lovers are loath to see depart It Is Geo
M Cohan and hs royal family who have
been presenting The Yankee Prince
since Thursday evening
For retl genuine merit In musical com
edy construction this play which is one
of the mot recent to emanate from
George M Cohans prolific pen The
Yankee Prince Is commended It has
snap and sparkle It tells a pretty love
story In a coherent way and it has song
numbers of the most fascinating qualltr
and situations of the most laughable na
ture Then too It Is presented by such
an admirable cast and the big chorus is
so altogether pleasing that It would be
bard to find fault with it
With the performance this afternoon
and again tonight Mr Cohan and his big
supporting company will say goodbye to
the city of Zion
Edna Aug and the other favorites of
this weeks Orpheum bill will give their
last performance of the engagement to
night Mary Norman heads the bill that
will be given beginning Sunday even

Pacific coast Its extended tour through
the west has attracted much attention
not only through the merits of the enter

the stellar role but also because it Indi
cates thc growing influence of Chicago as
a creative theatrical metropolis
Lo was brought out by Harry Askin
a producing manager of Chicago and its
writing wa practically inspired by him
Mr Askin read one of 0 Henrys stories
called He Also Serves In a magazine
and said I want a musical comedy out
of that and then persuaded O Henry
and his colleague Mr Adams to get tel
work at It
To Indicate the success that Lo is

weeks engagement in Seattle October 21
and proceeded to break aU records for at
tendance at the theatre where It was

up at Shenandoah a few days ago
As I came into the town said Don
ahue I noticed In the distance a large
black and white pig It seemed to be
watching me continually for a halt mile
before I got into the station
Wen the train stopped the pig was
opposite the station looking up in my
face I alighted and started through
the town the piE following me every
step I went into R drug store to buy a
soda The pig stayed outside and when
I came out to continue my journey the
pig was ready and followed I was
soon at the church door and waited the
arrival of the sexton When he came
I walked in the open door and the pig
made an attempt to go too but was
soon chased by the gruff orders and a
kick from the janitor
Then I came out I noticed the pig
wending its way toward the station a
quarter of a mite ahead of me seem
Ingly downhearted because It had not
