A young lady called one day this week I
to ask at what price we could sell a fob like I I
one she had purchased at wholesale I
through a falsifying catalogue We showed I I
her a beautiful stock and she acknowledged
that our oneprice plain figure 12 fobs were
equal to the one she had bought for 12
Our price included a monogram worth
1 and no express charges both of which she
had to pay extra and besides her fob was in
a nameless common flabby white paper box
while the purchase from us would have been
in a fine Leyson box which in itself adds
value and satisfaction to a Christmas gift
The same old story The goat fancied
the grass was better just over the fence and
put his head through the pickets to prove it
and choked to death for his pains The local
merchant does not ask you to pay more but
does ask that as he helps to educate your I
children and pave your streets and beautify
your city that you pay him the compliment I
of at least ascertaining if his wares and I I
prices are right before spending Utah money I
earned in Utah to enrich another common I

I MAKES GOOD REPORT
Provo Man Tells of Productiveness of
Florida Soil
C B Williams of Provo has just re
turned from an extended trip to the Kver
glades of Florida where he went in thj
interest of purchasers of Glade lands
and reports that although the drainage
of the Everglades ia a very large task
till work is progressing < rapidly and sev
eral thousand acres of land are being re
claimed monthly
In his report Mr Williams says That
part of Florida lying south of Lake Okee
chobee is without doubt the most produc
lye I portion of the United States Men
with but a few acres of land are making
fortunes raising vegetables for the north
ern markets
The vegetables are grown at a time of
the year when the rest of the country
is frostbound and when the truck grower
receives the very highest winter prices
for his produce
As for fruit the orchards of southern
Florida are simply groaning under the
wehtht of their production
There are over seventy varieties of fruit
and vegetables raised in Florida some of
which are not grown in aay other por I
tion of the United States Florida fruit
comes into the market from thirty to I
fortyfive days earlier than California
fruits and is vastly superior in quality I II
